| How do I get set up as a sole trader and what sort of costs are involved? I am interested in preparing myself to act as a sole trader - I have something in planning which will raise some capital, but then I want to become quite literally a trader - buying/selling/arranging inland transport and import/export of goods, buy cheap sell higher with an emphasis on quality of goods and a high level of service - nothing too complicated. I have access to a storage facility+ a contact who has agreed in principle to assist in the running of operations. I am not quite ready to start this yet and wonder if there is a way of "setting the scene" so that I can hit the ground running. Advice heard previously was to ask questions of those who have been involved in similar operations for at least five years where possible. I am and always have been a grafter, have done 96 hour weeks before now so I'm not scared by multiple commitments. The floor is open, I am in the early planning stages and don't think I could borrow from the bank for this sort of thing - any loopholes? Catégorie : Small Business Par : Big Dave |

| How does pay work for phtographic models ie does the client need to condsider tax or ni as a sole trader/Ltd? Is it the models responsibility? As a sole trader can you just pay and not worry? How does this change if I need to become Ltd company? If they are not from an agency, ie freelance - how would this differ? Is there anything else to consider? | How can I resove a big problem with a rouge trader? I have had a path and patio layed by a rouge trader - I have had numerous problems such as rocking slabs, high slabs, Broken slabs - not to mention that every single slab is stained with cement. Having not payed the trader he initally threatened me with court action. Following this I had an independent report produced which showed 22 serious problems with my path and patio. All went quiet for about 2 months but back in December I recieved a call from an unlicenced debt collector threatening to come and rip up the slabs unless I pay. Fortunately trading standards put a stop to this guy. 2 More months have passed and nothing but I am really concerned that their is an outstanding debt and I still have a dodgy path and patio. I want to get the work done again but I am concerned about the outstanding debt - even thought the job is completley indadequate. Does anyone have any suggestions how I can close this matter? | Please can you tell me the advantages of becoming a Limited company over a Sole Trader? I am looking to set up a business and would like to know if it would be advantageous to set myself up as a limited company as opposed to being a sole trader? Would there be any benefit from a tax point of view? If I am the only director can I also be an employee? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks Catégorie : United Kingdom Par : fodigie2004 |

| What are the differences in setting up a company as a sole trader or a limited company? I am setting up a small business, for the time being it will only be me working for the company, but I will need to employ people within the next 6-8 months. Are there tax advantages to setting up a limited company? Also as a sole trader would I still need to register my company? Catégorie : Small Business Par : Lupee |
