| In Hinduism, why do Hindus who hail from 'Gujarat' worship these 'swami-narayan' men ? who are these imposters of the faith ? and why highly revered ? I am a hindu myself, hindi speaking though and my family don't hail anywhere near or from Guj-a-rat - however, i often become perplexed @ the following things ive noticed regarding UK Hindu Guj-a-rati's. a) above all dieties, the image or statue of a midget wearing a white dress and a turban is placed at the FRONT and often at the middle of all the other statuettes/shrines. b) who is this ? certainly isn't somebody who is mentioned in any of the sacred hindu scriptures, so once again - who is this imposter ? c) why have Lord Krishna's photos and/or statues by the side of this swami person ? yes PERSON - hes no diety, hate to break it to you but hes no god. There is only ONE god. and he may manifest himself into anything he wants to. d) My father often remarks 'well they are the TRUE hindus....' at which i get perplexed as to wtf he means, 'true hindus ? how ?' e) so who or what is this swami thing, this myth or delusion thats causing you to overlook Brahma-Vishnu and Shiva ? Isn't one of these swami guys guilty of peadophilia and on MASS scale out in the USA ? p.s i dont mean to cause offence or a rift, but if that happens then so be it - i just don't worship images or statues of walking/talking self proclaimed 'holy men' , thats absurd. a) above all dieties, the image or statue of a midget wearing a white dress and a turban is placed at the FRONT and often at the middle of all the other statuettes/shrines.... | How to get over this jealousy? I've been going out with my boyfriend for a year, and our relationship is great. However, instead of just being happy with the way it is I get really jealous over him having had serious girlfriends before me. He still mentions them often, and once when I was looking for a DVD under his bed I found an album of photos of previous girlfriends. I also discovered that before we went out properly, he chose another girl over me, but came back to me when it didn't work out. (I was unaware of this until a few days ago). I only had little flings before I met him and was hurt again and again in relationships- so in a way this is like a first love, very special and intimate for me. I kind of wish I meant the same to him, but he's been there, done that, and experienced pretty much everything before. I don't get why I'm so envious all of a sudden, because it's not really in my nature, but it's eating away at me, and when I bring it up with him he doesn't seem to get it- just shrugs and says 'that was then, this is now' sort of things. by little flings I don't mean one-night stands, I could never do that. | Provisional licence in UK? I've just gotten my provisional licence (finally!), but the photo is very, very pale and almost looks as though it wasn't printed properly, as if there was meant to be another layer of ink! Is this normal? Am I worrying for no reason or what? It's got all the usual holograms and details and whatnot, I just don't have anybody else's recent licence to compare it to. | Brighten a picture on photoshop or something? How do I brighten up a picture on something like photo shop? I have to take a photo of me in for school tomorrow and whenever I print it I look like I've put A LOT of fake tan on and turned orange as a.. um orange? Anyway it's not the printer and my dad said it's the lighting too dark or something about it being over exposed, anyway to fix this? I can't use any others because this is the only one I like!
