I have a 3.8 GPA with a Sat score of 1680. Im applying to Like UCI UCSB UCR UCSC Cal Poly SLO and Cal State Long Beach. Im probably only going to get accepted to Riverside and Santa Cruz but i heard they are not very good schools. Im planning to major in business, is it better to go to one the cal states or a skool like UCR or UCSC? Please take in to consideration the overall school like the area, dorm life and stuff like that..

I spent two years in my school's music ministry. I spent a year in Band. I couldn't do 4 years in anything because I switched school during the summer after my Sophomore school. The transition between schools is the reason my GPA isn't too high. I'm going to write about it in my essay. I also have worked at my family's business for the last 6 years. | My chances of acceptance to a UC? Hiya, like every high school senior, I'm scared to death about college admissions. My background: I was born in Fuzhou China, I immigrated here @ the age of nine. English is my 3rd language. My mother and father only had me and each other. We are poor, combine they make under 25,000 a year for a household of 3. We own no property (house etc) except two used cars. Weighted GPA: 3.8 SAT Reasoning: 1440 (out of 2400)...=[ too late to retake it ACT: 19 (my first and only time) (should I even send this score to colleges?) | help! need some info. VERY IMPORTANT? I WILL be going pier fishing, is my first time saltwater fishing. i need to know what kind of hook and sinker, also dead and live bait i need to use? i have went to many fresh water fishing and i mostly use octous hook, can i use tat hook for saltwater fishing? do i really need to use the wire or plastic line, im talking about the line tat use to connect the hook so when the fish bite, the line cant broke because of the sharp teeth. i have frozen shrimp for bait. i need to know what bait and what time will be most effective or fish in active search for food. what kind of fish i can fish for, im going to santa cruz wharf, stay there until 2am. | Psychology - San Jose State vs. UC Santa Cruz? I live in South San Jose and I am not sure if I should go to SJ State or UCSC for psychology. I plan on going to grad school after I get my BA to get my license. I know that UCSC is a respected school but can anyone tell me about the differences of the psych program there vs. the one at SJ State? I am thinking about just going to SJ because it is a 10 min drive from my house. What do you all think? Thanks for the input from both of your answers. If I do go to UCSC I will not be moving to SC. I do live 'out of the house'....I work PT and I am a single mother....I guess that's way the thought of going to school a little closer to our house was inviting...Although, truly, education is what matters not proximity. | Can someone please give me some college guidance? So I don't know what route to take for college, I can defiantly get into one, but I just don't know how I Want to go about doing it. Here's a few problems -I've for the longest time lost confidence in my schools counsilors, nice people, not so great advice - Student opinions change a lot, some groups look down upon anything other then a UC "university of California, where I'm at" which basically means UCLA, Davis, Santa Barbra, ect. Then I know a bunch of people who are taking the JC and transferring to where ever later on. It's an idea that sounds good, but I'd miss a lot of the college experience which I think would be something invaluable to me. Grades......eh, about a 3.12, I've taken A LOT of AP/ AS courses so that's why, but its still not a particularly glorious place to beat, SAT best overall session was an 1820, I've done a lot of clubs and extra curricular like Drama, Newspaper, Freshman basketball, community service, ect. -Applying to university of Oregon, which looks great, but going out of state like that can be very expensive for me.I think it'd be worth it, not sure, would prefer to live on campus -schools applying to= UC Santa Cruz, Berkley "for kicks really, went their for a writting camp and I have to apply, just so I know I tried" Pamona, Sanoma, University of Oregon, Chico, San Luis abisbo, -Is chico's old "party school" rep still going to bite me in the arse later on if I go their? basicly...........HELP ME, in any way shape or form thanks :D - Catégorie : Higher Education (University +) Par : blank |

I'm a California resident. I came to American when I was seven. My mom gets disability, but I don't know if that would help me. Just wondering... from my list of school, where do you think i would get in? Here are my stats: ACT: overall - 28. Reading - 30. Math - 29. Writing 31. English - 34. Science - 18. Not much of a science person as you can see! SAT:1850. Critical Reading - 610. Math - 600. Writing - 640. Weighted GPA 3.77 Classes for junior year: AP Psychology, Precalculus, US History Honors, Regular English, Advanced Drama, Teacher's Assistant. Classes for Senior Year: AP Calculus AB, AP English, American Democracy, Physiology, Advanced Drama. After school activities: -100+ hours of volunteer work at an elderly home. -Award from my school for excellence in writing in English. I got this at the end of Junior year and it's pretty amazing because when I came to American I didn't know one word of English and ended up getting an award for excellence in writing! -Secretary of my school's literary magazine for the third year. -Co-president of the school's jewish club for the second year. - Also did a public speaking tournament thing in 10th grade.. called forensics. I am fluent in French (since age 10), in Russian (since birth), and in English. I have passable Spanish. I took summer classes at UC Berkeley's ATDP every year since I was in the 7th grade. The summer after my freshman year, I took Geometry and got a B+, after sophomore year I took Introduction to Chemistry and got a B, and then after junior year, I took Writing for College and got an A.
