Light and Dark. Good and Evil. Opposites attract, That’s what they say. Black sheep can graze, In a field of green, green grass. It won’t change them, Or make them fit in. Sunshine and Moonlight. Light and Dark. Good and Evil. Sitting in the field, Of green, green grass, Watching their care-free hearts play. My icy soul aches. The gentle wind brushes your golden hair, You, sitting beside me. But it never caresses mine. Golden rays fall, Shining in your bright green eyes. Casting me in shadows. Sunshine and Moonlight. Light and Dark. Good and Evil. You would own my heart. If only I could feel it’s beat. It’s better to stand on a broken dream, The dream of Presidents and Kings. To dream of peace, and love, Then for them to never have existed. Hope will pull us through, Through the open door. And out into white shadows and black light. Sunshine and Moonlight. Light and Dark. Good and Evil. The stars shine just as bright as the Sun. And the Sun will glow just like the stars. So why can’t evil turn good? The fine line between love and hate, Is but the ribbon of friendship that joins the two. Sunshine and Moonlight. The Moonlight and Sunshine references are to me and my best friend Kaila. I wrote it for her long ago, and entered into a comp with it. I am Moonlight, she is Sunshine.
