| I have a dog and she has herding instints? She suppost to be a Labrador x golden retriver and you can see both breeds in her, however she very solid build, a massive head and lots of white through her coat. Which is not easily notice buy her photo. She very easily distracted, she also chooses to heard some breeds of dogs and she bark and nip them on the heel if she gets close enough-Jack Russell and German Shepherds are what really ticks her off, so are Poms. However she fine with Cavalier King Charles, Newfoundlands(One is just slightly bigger then her), Cocker Spaniels and seems fine with Boxers and mini foxes and poodles-even the really toy ones, She basic obedience-sit, drop, down, and lie down(Lie on the side), stay and come and pretty good on the lead as long as I spot the dogs 1st! All is fine on the lead. but she the opposite just won't listen to be let off lead-so i never take her off, and if something catches her scent she racing toward it and loose her manner and forget her commands. Would she possible have some sheepdog-maybe the Maremma sheepdog in her? Because nipping other dogs on heel is herding trait, and as far as i'm aware it not a common behaviour in labrador or golden retrivers. She also excellent with cats once they been brought into the house "She considered them hers" fine with adult cats, she on the odd occassion attempts to chase cat-not to hurt them-she just wants to lick them to death! She also fine with ducks-and yet she not been raised with them-their was a Muscove male duck at the local lake and she could easily go up to it and it never bat an eye. that duck never used the lake-I think it was a former pet duck but still should have been freak out by my dog-haven't seen it for awhile though Everyone tell me she very large for her mixed breed and we are quite surprised at how big she grew for a female. Everyone is telling me she very solid built for her breed. Some have said she may have bull mastiff in her-due to her head-I don't see it in her. I brought an outfit for christmas for her which is suppost to suit large breed dogs-suit dog 50pounds-however i had to take the leg straps off her christmas costume, and cut the large antelers straps and attach longeer straps so it would fit. She also crosses her front legs when she walks and jogs We are renting, so dog isn't allowed inside-she never been allowed and it never snows. that my parents rules- however I feel diff Here is a few photos of her-She 10years old-its autumn and winter-hence why she got the weatherproof outfit on. She feel the cold http://s138.photobucket.com/albums/q248/encouraging_angels/Genevieve/?action=view¤t=Jasmine063.jpg http://s138.photobucket.com/albums/q248/encouraging_angels/Genevieve/?action=view¤t=25052008004-1.jpg http://s138.photobucket.com/albums/q248/encouraging_angels/Genevieve/?action=view¤t=28052008009.jpg http://s138.photobucket.com/albums/q248/encouraging_angels/Genevieve/?action=view¤t=09062008006.jpg these are old pictures of her http://s138.photobucket.com/albums/q248/encouraging_angels/Genevieve/?action=view¤t=Mischief045.jpg http://s138.photobucket.com/albums/q248/encouraging_angels/Genevieve/?action=view¤t=Running.jpg Can you see her in the pumpkin patch http://s138.photobucket.com/albums/q248/encouraging_angels/Genevieve/?action=view¤t=PumpkinsSunsets011.jpg She loves children and has tones of kids sneaking up behind her on walks and patting her quite roughly-and she doesn't mind, she just lies down and watches them lapping up the attention I feel different to my parents-I think dogs should be inside when your home and allowed some time in the fenced backyard when your out to run around- I love her to bits. So No i'm not getting rid of her. Please answer sensabilty or don't bother answering at all We are renting, so dog isn't allowed inside-she never been allowed and it never snows. that my parents rules. I did state that earlier Catégorie : Dogs Par : Tulip |

| Do you find a Labrador or Golden Retriver Scary? Amazing how many people won't pat my dog that is Labrador x Golden Retriver. Saying she too big. One guy i saw had a little girl who was eager to pay my dog and he said, No too big. Poor kid. Then I went to the park today. The grandma told me to stay away from the german shepherd while my dog was wagging her tail and wanting to play with a German Shepherd dog and Cattle dog puppy. However i was scared of the younger kids dog little Pug-he was GROWLING AT MY DOG-NOT a nice PUG dog for KIDS-Won't be surprised if that dog bites the kid oneday!! The kids were under 8years old, they were about 3 & 6years. Other times people say, Labrador are alway friendly and dive to pat her. Lately though people have said she TOO BIG and WON'T pat her. She is very placid and loving with people adore kids, She also loves her head being touched and her ears massagages-MOST DOGS HATE THIS. SHE LET 99% people she let touch her, However on occassions if she Doesn't like you, she won't let you touch her. SO DO YOU THINK MY DOG IS SCAREY OR TOO BIG? http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q248/encouraging_angels/Genevieve/Mydog015-1.jpg DO YOU FIND MY LABRADOR X GOLDEN RETRIVER TOO BIG OR SCAREY? http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q248/encouraging_angels/Genevieve/Mydog018-1.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q248/encouraging_angels/Genevieve/Genevieve3.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q248/encouraging_angels/Genevieve/Genevieve3-111.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q248/encouraging_angels/Genevieve/21072008.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q248/encouraging_angels/Genevieve/25052008002.jpg Catégorie : Dogs Par : Tulip |

| Help me with my story? The main character's name is Genevieve Laroche. I'll explain her character first. Brought up in the darker side of England, her mother died giving birth to her in 1807. Her father (being a bartender) barely earned enough money to send her to school. She dropped out at 13 and helped her father earn money by singing in his bar. There, passing pirates, captains and regular customers gave her tips on fighting and she grew to be very skilled and handy with a sword. At 15, her drunk uncle visited, but shot her father. All hell broke loose while she hid in the back. Realising she had nowhere to go, Genevieve ran away to the docks to join a ship. After being refused many times, a kind captain decided to humor her. She served as a servant for three years before returning to shore to commandeer a government ship (by then news of her had spread, and all were eager to be her crew). From there she sailed the seas, robbing them of all the treasure she could muster. Oh, and I've made Genevieve average-looking, with a feisty spirit and a temper to match. The story begins while she's gazing out to sea. Suddenly her ship is attacked by her uncle's crew. He recognises her, but in battle all her crew is killed. He spares her, returning her to shore. Through a mishap she is thrown through time into the 21st century. That's all I have for now. What should happen while she's in the 21st century? Apart from learning to fit in and all. N.B. I'm 13. | How to 'un-cliche' my character? Her name is Genevive Laroche. She was born in 1807 to a rich couple, but the mother died during birth. She always hated acceptable decorum and being too femenine, and is mocked by her peers (but this is partially jealousy for her incredible beauty). At 14 she runs away to become a servant with a pirate ship where the cook secretly trains her to fight and defend herself. These skills come in handy in a pirate raid, and the opposing captain sees this and invites her to train with him. After a while on that ship, she returns to shore to gather a crew. She commandeers a government ship and sets sail, robbing the Seven Seas of all the treasure she can. If you want to read the rest of the plot: http://au.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Aua3jnO5UTa5OTplBFTFTRbg5gt.;_ylv=3?qid=20080930233919AAExnYm But my problem is, Genevieve seems to be too cliche? I've decided to give her a feisty temper (and she's better with a sword than most men). How do I 'un-cliche' her? I can't think of any traits that could do that!
